My name is Christine McClain. I am a Christian single homeschool mom that has successfully graduated three children. All I have remaining in my personal homeschool journey is my 16-year-old and that is the reason Academy of Christian Education was born. I just wanted a family to finish out his remaining school years. We have just completed our third year and are looking forward to our fourth year servicing K-8th grade. We meet two days a week at a church in Hollywood.

G loria Jean Sumpter, a native of Bowman, South Carolina, is an Army veteran and graduate of Claflin University, University of Northern Iowa, and Palo Alto College. She has four children and four grandchildren, all of whom have been positively affected by her Natural Teaching strategies. Her mother with an eighth-grade education knew the value of education and gave her children many experiences. This, during the 60’s when children in the South were trailing behind parents working as domestic employees, in tobacco fields, and other agricultural jobs. Mrs. Laura Anna Sweat Sumpter (mother) pushed her children to finish high school. This to her was the most important achievement.

Nicole Stewart-Jones is a dynamic educator, curriculum developer, and entrepreneur with over 18 years of experience in public education. As the Founder and President of the National
Association of Black Microschool Leaders (NABML) and Legacy Prep Collegiate Academy, she is dedicated to transforming educational ecosystems by empowering families, educators, and
communities. Nicole is also the visionary behind Rich Kids University, an innovative online mentoring and enrichment platform designed to equip children aged 8-18 with real-world skills like financial literacy, leadership, and civic engagement. .A wife, mother, and advocate for equitable education, Nicole’s work bridges the gap for
underserved students and communities, inspiring others to create lasting legacies of knowledge, opportunity, and success. Through her initiatives, she has become a leading voice in the microschool movement, blending urban intelligence with a heart for family empowerment.
