Homeschool Mom
Christine McClain
My name is Christine McClain. I am a Christian single homeschool mom that has successfully graduated three children. All I have remaining in my personal homeschool journey is my 16-year-old and that is the reason Academy of Christian Education was born. I just wanted a family to finish out his remaining school years. We have just completed our third year and are looking forward to our fourth year servicing K-8th grade. We meet two days a week at a church in Hollywood.
When I was a child, I told my parents that I was going to be a teacher. I would go to school during the day and then come home in the evening and teach my teddy bears and dolls everything I had learned that day.
Years later, this dream became a reality; and I taught in public schools for a few years. However, after having children, I decided that I would homeschool instead. Since then I have had the privilege to teach in numerous homeschool programs around Broward County. I have also worked in many children's ministries such as: nursery, AWANA, drama camp, VBS, and many other ministries or events related to working with children.
I have serviced the homeschool community in the state of Florida for 25+ years. I am an evaluator that also helps students with dual-enrollment. I also offer IOWA standardized testing.

Almost six years ago, I founded my own center. This August, I proudly expanded by opening a second location.
In addition to my work in education, I’ve founded and co-founded other businesses, experiences that have strengthened my leadership and creativity. Whether in the classroom or running a center, I bring energy, dedication, and a love for making learning both meaningful and memorable.

Homeschool Mom/Mindset Coach
Regina Sloan
Regina Sloan is a mindset coach who helps women make clear decisions, trust themselves, and move forward without overthinking or waiting for perfection.

As a mom of four (ages 6 to 20), she knew early on she wanted something different for her kids—but believed homeschooling wasn’t for her. She thought she had to be rich, white and a stay-at-home mom. Years later, she challenged that thinking, learned to trust herself, and created her own way—one that works for her family.
She teaches you how to think—so you can get clear on what you want, trust your decisions, and build a path that supports both you and your children, while also being able to pivot and navigate natural changes as they occur.

Homeschool Mom
Tori Stewart
A native southside Chicagoan and former hairstylist, Tori Stewart made the decision in 2014 to redirect her focus and take the lead on how, and what, her children would be taught. After a heartbreaking conversation with her then 3rd grade son, she and her husband agreed that homeschooling their children was more than a school choice matter. It was a matter of life or death. Tori curated an educational model that centers Reading Comprehension, Mathematics, Black History, and Special Skill Development. She believes that there is a connection between disinterest in education and lack of cultural knowledge. Tori has mentored families new to the homeschool journey and provided supplementary classes to learners who need support. Educator
Katy Toma
Katy Toma is an educator, educational futurist, consultant, and TED-Ed collaborator—as well as an online and offline teacher and author of multiple books published on Amazon. Her work is dedicated to helping children of the digital age learn how to learn and thrive in an ever-evolving world.

Katy’s passion for teaching began in early childhood. She doesn’t remember playing with dolls—only lining them up to teach, read, and “coach” them. Though life initially pulled her away from a teaching career (following advice that “teachers don’t make money”), she always found her way back—whether through training adults or mentoring kids.
Over the last 15 years, Katy began leading project-based workshops, empowering children with the thinking, focus, and learning skills needed to complete real-world projects. These workshops became increasingly successful and widely requested.
During the pandemic, she brought her vision online—launching SMARTe World, a virtual school with students across the U.S. and beyond. After lockdown, demand grew for local after-school programs throughout the Las Vegas Valley, and today she teaches both online and in-person.
Katy is deeply committed to supporting
children, parents, and educators. Her current work focuses on understanding the unique traits of kids born after 2020—and preparing them with the cognitive, emotional, and digital skills they’ll need to succeed in an uncertain future shaped by rapid technological and AI advancements.
