Adelita Gonzales

Adelita Gonzales is a homeschooling advocate, speaker, and community organizer dedicated to empowering families. As a mother of three and grandmother of two, she navigated the public school system—graduating her two eldest children—before homeschooling her youngest, who entered college at 15.

Within the Homeschool Association of California (HSC), Adelita has served as Director of Communications, Tween Events Coordinator, and online event host. She has organized conference tracks, campouts, and youth events while advocating for homeschooling rights and legislative protections.

Deeply connected to her Indigenous roots, Adelita values community, self-determination, and the passing of knowledge across generations. Her mission is to foster a supportive, connected, and informed homeschooling community, ensuring all families have the resources they need to thrive.

Erika Davis-Pitre

Erika Davis-Pitre and her husband Michael have 4 children - one daughter (46) and three sons (43, 40 & 33). They also have two sons-in-law, and two grandsons(18 & 11).She and her husband live in San Francisco and Erika is the owner of GameSchoolCon, a Gameschooling family conference that's held annually in Southern California. She is also the former President of HSC, one of California's largest homeschooling organizations.Erika has spoken at many un/homeschooling conferences, led quite a few funshops/workshops and has hosted and participated in many round table discussions about unschooling and gameschooling all over the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe.She especially enjoys talking about Gameschooling, Unschooling teens, Sharing the joy of Unschooling and Celebrating Diversity through Unschooling. And she is a Artist Trading Card(ATC) fanatic-if you don't know about ATCs please ask!

Tiarra, aka Mx.T, is the founder of Ancestral Alchemy Academy, a sovereign freedom school that centers the elevation of Indigenous and ancestral wisdom as a means for creating customized learning experiences for district schools, independent schools, homeschools, micro-schools, and youth service-providing organizations. With majors in Creative writing and Business Marketing from San Francisco State University, over 17 years of culturally rooted teaching practice, Montessori pedagogical foundations, Early Childhood Education (ECE) unit foundations, and over a dozen accreditations in radical enrichment approaches, including Design Thinking certification from Stanford University’s d.school and the Ashoka Changemaker Network, Mx.T's path weaves academic excellence with Ancestral purpose, activating the academy as a living prayer for the love of learning that is our collective birthright.

Christine McClain

My name is Christine McClain. I am a Christian single homeschool mom that has successfully graduated three children. All I have remaining in my personal homeschool journey is my 16-year-old and that is the reason Academy of Christian Education was born. I just wanted a family to finish out his remaining school years. We have just completed our third year and are looking forward to our fourth year servicing K-8th grade. We meet two days a week at a church in Hollywood.

When I was a child, I told my parents that I was going to be a teacher. I would go to school during the day and then come home in the evening and teach my teddy bears and dolls everything I had learned that day.

Years later, this dream became a reality; and I taught in public schools for a few years. However, after having children, I decided that I would homeschool instead. Since then I have had the privilege to teach in numerous homeschool programs around Broward County. I have also worked in many children's ministries such as: nursery, AWANA, drama camp, VBS, and many other ministries or events related to working with children.

I have serviced the homeschool community in the state of Florida for 25+ years. I am an evaluator that also helps students with dual-enrollment. I also offer IOWA standardized testing.

ESA Connection

Tammy Johnson

Tammy is a Master’s Level special education teacher who has been in the educational field since 2004; she worked in Yuma, AZ until 2013 as a special education teacher at a local high school after moving there from Washington state, her home state. Upon moving to Phoenix in 2013, she transitioned out of public education and moved into private education in 2015 and created Smart Cactus Educational Services and Consulting LLC in 2017 where she supported families in their home education journey. She enjoys working with learners one on one to support their success, but in the past several years, she has expanded her skills to consulting with families and educational businesses to support learners indirectly.

In addition to teaching, Tammy enjoys coaching soccer and basketball for the Westside Roadrunners Special Olympics delegation in her community. Tammy is married to Curtis, and together they stay busy raising their young son.
